Brendon's Blue Blanket

Well, after my hubbs saw my super cute, super fuzzy blanket that I had gotten over Christmas Break when I was shopping with my mom, he decided he needed one too! Like the good wife I am, I decided to offer to make him one. Last month he and I went together and I let him pick out some fuzzy fabric he wanted me to use. He chose the dark blue, and I chose the light... good color combo.... So we got the fabric cut and there it sat. I was either too busy or tired to start on it.

So tonight, I laid the fabric on the bed and with out cutting the bed spread or sheet underneath I cut and tied this bad boy up for him! Mr. Hubbie was very pleased.

The coloring on this first picture is a bit off. The coloring on the 2nd picture is more true to color.

I've been meaning to post this...

About 2 weekends ago, I went to Anthropologie 1. because I LOVE that store. 2. I had a $75 gift card from my birthday (October) that I wanted to spend.

Their window displays always amaze me and I always end up wishing I can do something super cute like they do. However most of them take too much time or are too complicated. WELL, this past time they had SUCH A CUTE, and simple idea that is also a great way to recycle.

Take a look:

Do you know what those cute flowers are made out of? They are made of the tops of plastic (soda and etc.) bottles. CUTE RIGHT? I decided my class and I are going to make these. I'll cut the bottles off, and draw the flower petals on the tops. Then my kids can cut and paint them. We'll hang them from the ceiling of the classroom! It'll be cute I can see it now!

I can kick myself because I had students bring in TONS of these bottles because we used the bottle half for our Valentine's Day holders and we recycled the tops... now I need the tops!

Valentine's Day/Baby Shower

Yesterday I went to a baby shower for two co-workers and I was in charge of making the cupcakes. So I made Sprite Cupcakes and Red Velvet Cupcakes. They were a hit. I was so happy. I also made baby chick Cake Pops. They were very time consuming to make but everyone loved them! Here's a picture:

Today, Valentine's Day. It was a prett mellow day. The hubbs sent flowers to my work on Friday. Today, I gave him his present, some things from thinkgeek.com. We went to lunch and watched the Olympics.

Why? Because I want this set for my baby's nursery. IT IS SO DAMN CUTE. Before I reveal what the stuff looks like let me explain.

My nursery's theme has been picked out for years. I want to do Giraffes. Well I have a special connection with the Giraffe mascot. They Children's Hospital I volunteered at had a Giraffe mascot (which I was from time to time). Because of everything I experienced there, I've grown to appreciate everything life has to give and has made me more of a positive thinker than I already was. Well what I learned about Giraffes while at the hospital is that they are the animal with the biggest heart.

So what better theme for my baby's nursery (when I have a baby).

So with out further adieu.... Here is a photo of the stuff I want.... Feel free to buy and ship any of it to me! LOL

Well, today started out with me doing Laundry and Brendon cleaning his Amp. He has a few guitars and is hinting that he wants a new one for his birthday (it's in March). So we'll see. I got home and am now prepping for the Superbowl. I'm making mini sandwiches, chicken taquitos, and Sprite Cupcakes with homemade butter cream frosting. Then we'll have the usual chips and salsa.

It should be fun. I also am in a Superbowl pool with some of the staff at school. I have no clue how to play, but we'll see on Tuesday if I was a winner or not. HA!

Happy Superbowl Sunday pals and gals.

100th Day of School

Today was our 100th day of school. When my students came in, before I took role, I congratulated them on making it this far. One of my little friends says, "It was hard work but a lot of fun too". TOO CUTE.

We had a whole day of fun activities planned and all of my friend are doing pretty well.

Tonight was the Dinner her school district is having to honor her as Teacher of the Year. I wish I could have been there but I have no more personal days left. My brother better have taken pictures so I can at least see how it went.

Today I am thankful for everything I have. I mean, sometime I complain, but I really do have a good life.

Slowly my Allergies have been getting more under control. You will never know how bad your allergies can be until you have to teach a room full of 22 students or more and have RAGING ALLERGIES. OH BOY. Most of my students have been simpathetic toward me. However some have chosen to make poor choice and they have suffered for it. I had 3 people who didn't get to start making their Valentine's Day boxes today. They had to sit there and watch. Bummer.

Two of my co-workers are preggers and both are having boys. SO EXCITING. I am part of the "Sunshine" Team this year. We take care of all the extra events that come up during the year, Weddings/Showers, etc. We buy cards or/and gifts. Well I just went shopping and bought 2 baby shower gifts for the two ladies. I must say... the gifts are pretty darn great. Now I've got to go out and buy something for them from just me. Our staff is having a shower for them the day before V-day. So I've got time to look. For the shower I am also in charge of baking cupcakes. So I decided to do, Red Velvet with Cream cheese frosting, White cupcakes with buttercream, and then funfetti cupcakes with buttercream. I am thinking of making the white cupcakes blue and some green and leaving the frosting white. I bought blue and green sprinkles and the cupcake liners are are white, blue, and green plaid. TOO CUTE!

So I'm quite excited to get back into the kitchen and bake bake bake.

Today I'm thankful for babies and baby showers.
