Happy 2014-2015 School Year

Well, I am now a first grade teacher. It happened very fast. I got hired 3 days before school started and I had 2 days to put up my classroom. It was crazy fast.

Here's a little before  photo of my classroom.

Here is a video of what it looked like after 1.5 days of working in my room:

I'll try and get a video of the finished room soon.

Nature Box #2 Review

Well another Nature Box goes down in the books as awesome. They even threw in a free snack this month. I haven't had time to take photos of each snack but I will throw up the photos from the Nature Box website. What you see, is exactly what you get.

1. Dried Peaches- They were sold out so no picture sorry. These peaches were amazing. They were soft and chewy, with a wonderful sweet peach taste.

2. Apple Pie Oat Clusters- They were sold out of these as well so again, no picture. This tasted like an apple crumble (similar to a cobbler). They were a perfect small sweet ball of goodness when you crave something sweet but don't want the guilt of eating a whole entire cobbler. YUM!

3. Santa Fe Corn Sticks- You like Cheese Doritos? You will LOVE theses and a little handful will do ya!

4. Sticks and Stones- This is a mix of nuts (almonds and cashews) and sesame sticks. The perfect snack for a salty craving.

5. PB & J Granola- Now last months granola was crunch and chocolaty. This month's is soft, moist and had dried fruits like strawberries in it. This was a perfect snack on it's own or mixed in with the boring healthy cereal that doesn't have any taste but is really good for ya.

6. This one was a freebie extra snack just to say thanks for getting a nature box. What was it: Roasted Garlic Pumpkin Seeds. Perfect in a salad or on their own they have a great taste. The garlic isn't overpowering. So you can actually taste the pumpkin seeds.

If you want to check out Nature Box, my subscription is only $20 a month which is reasonable if you go compare these snacks to comps in the grocery store, here is a link for you. Click

Nature Box #2 came in!

I come home after being out all morning to my Nature Box!

I was so excited I raced to my office, busted it open to see what was inside. Here's a sneak peak. There will be a review of each product after I've snacked a little. Until then, here's what's inside:

Dried California Peaches, Santa Fe Corn Stix, PB&J Granola, Stick 'n Stones, Apple Pie Oat Clusters, and they threw in a surprised gift of roasted garlic pumpkin seeds. WAHOO!

Happy snack day to me! These are going to be great when I get back into the classroom again!

The Couch is here!

So if you read this post here about us getting a new couch, you'll know that we had to wait 1-3 weeks for it to be delivered. Well it's here and we love it. I got this Simmons sofa for $288 after a 20% off coupon I had at Big Lots. So thrilled I got such a killer deal. Doing a little research, I found that couch on a few different websites for close to $1000. I wanted to show you the couch, as it is now. It photographs on the darker side.

Those pillows on the couch came with it. I'm going to make new covers for them as we are going with a coastal theme in the living room and kitchen. The throw is there for now. I'm thinking of draping it over the arm of the couch or just not have it there at all.  Haven't decided.  The pillows on the floor are from our old family room. I'll be making covers for those as well.

Now what to go above the couch.... well one of my best friends, Amanda, and I found this sign and I LOVE it. It's got the beachy/sandy vibe to it and I love the saying..... "When in doubt be the more generous of the two." Such a great message. I hope it works for over the couch. It's pretty heavy as it's made of metal so we're going to have to get a nail for the wall and hopefully it will hold.
