Cause Box by Sevenly

Here's a new kind of subscription box that does good. It's called Cause Box by Sevenly. Every 3 months this box comes packed with $150+ of "world-changing products for woman". When you subscribe you get to choose a charity and a portion of your subscription price will go to that charity.

Click the link above to check out the website and learn more. What a great way to give back. I do not get points of money off my next box, if you decide to subscribe. I just wanted to share this so others can help do good.

Here is what I got in my box:

This is the box and what the packaging looks like

This elephant necklace is made by Matterial Fix- Empower a girl, change the world. The proceeds from this necklace help Freedom Firm (who has partnered with Matterial Fix) rescue and restore girls in India who have been subjected to sex trafficking.

Thank you card/seal kit, because we all need to write more thank you cards.

Some quotable stickers

This one speaks for itself

This is probably my most favorite thing in the box. Click on the photo to enlarge and read the card that goes with this bottle.

Free People After Christmas Sale

I had some money to spend after Christmas and I got an email from Free People telling me that I could take an additional percentage off of their sale items. Well Free People has adorable items they can be pricey so I decided it would be worth a look.

Normally their sizes in clothing run small so I normally won't buy any clothing unless I'm at an actual store, so I hit up the accessories. I ended up with some great deals. I ended up with 3 pairs of socks, some fingerless mittens and a beanie. It's been rather cold for this part of CA and I needed a good pair of mittens especially for those chilly days when I have yard duty at school.
Cute tissued wrapped items with a Free People sticker

The Loot

I will link everything here. Keep in mind that these items are on sale, but do not have the extra percent off anymore that I received.

Lydia Liner Socks: (Black socks in the photo above)These will be great for all of those shoes I have in the Fall and Spring time that I like wearing socks with but don't look good with socks.

Bowsman Pom Beanie: I wanted this in time to wear it to the last 49er game of the season but it didn't come in time. It's cute and I'll still wear it.

Magic Feather No Show Socks: (Socks with feathers in photo above)These were just adorable and with the extra discount only came out to a couple of bucks! SOLD!

Sweet Vibes Ankle Socks:   (Socks with stripes in photo above) Like the other pair, these were about $3 ish. I should have ordered more because they are adorable.

Frida Flip Gloves: These are warm and will actually keep my hands warm I think. Can't wait to try them out.

Disneyland for Christmas

Since I have a season pass to Disneyland, it makes it a lot easier for us to go more often. I have already been enough times to pay not only for my pass, but extras days that are essentially free now.
Below are a few photos from our trip. We made dining reservations which is a MUST when you go during the busiest time of the year. We ate dinner one night at the Big Thunder Ranch, which is an all you can eat BBQ outdoor spot. For dinner you are served a bucket filled with BBQ, chicken, sausage, and ribs. You also get cornbread, coleslaw, BBQ beans, and corn wheels. It's all you can eat so if you want more you just ask your ranch hand what you want more of and they will bring it on out for you. The food is good and if this is your main meal for the day, it's well worth it.

The next day we went to the Plaza Inn (at the end of Main Street) for the breakfast buffet. Again it's all you can eat until breakfast ends, but the BEST part about this is.... it's a Character breakfast and the characters come out to greet you while you eat. It's a lot of fun and a great way to get your kids to eat in the morning. "Minnie can't some see you until you take 3 more bites." HA! I love it. The food is great and they have everything from an omlette making station, to biscuits and gravy. They offer Mickey waffles, fruit, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, etc. It's worth it. They give you a Breakfast with Minnie button on the way in, and they take a photo of your entire party (for you to buy if you wish). Good deal and a great way to start the day!

Ok, now onto the pictures:

A thing of beauty

I suck, I'm sorry!

I haven't posted in over a month. Time just gets away from me. Being a teacher I don't have a bunch of time to do the things I want to do. I have received a lot of message from you asking me how I've been, and I've decided that since Christmas is over and I have 2 more weeks of vacation, I'll do my best to get a few posts up for you. Thanks for checking in on me and sticking with me.

Move Over Starbucks

Move over Starbucks because I no longer have a need for your Peppermint Mocha drinks anymore. I have found something else to keep me warm in a delicious peppermint-Mocha flavor.  What have I found, these AMAZING COOKIES By the company Come Get Your Cookies.

I went to the grocery store on the way home from a day of beach fun to pick up some yogurts for snacks at work. I walked by the display of cookies from Come Get Your Cookies and the cute shape and beautiful color of all the cookies caught my eye. I looked over each bag reading the names of the unique cookie flavors I had never tried before.  They have cookies called "Hot Flash" which include the flavors of maple, bacon, and Tabasco,  another one that caught my eye was the Strawberry-Basil cookie. Knowing I HAD to try a bag of these cookies I stumbled upon the "Peppermint-Mocha" cookie. They are cute and pink and I am already in the holiday spirit so I thought that bag would be the perfect one to try.

After one bite, I was hooked. I've had 4 of them in the course of about 8 minutes.... They remind me of the Peppermint Mocha Starbucks beverage that everyone LOVES during the holiday season. These cookies would make a GREAT gift sitting in a cute Christmas mug (like the one I have pictured here that I found at Home Goods this season), or a perfect pick me up during a long work day, or just a yummy little piece of heaven to eat after dinner.

Here is the discription of the Peppermint Mocha cookie from their website: "These Cookies are off the Chart. If you’re on Santas Nice list you deserve these cookies, If you’ve been put on Santa’s Naughty list you deserve these more than ever! These cookies are a blend of Cocoa and just the right amount of Peppermint chips for that Christmas Cheer. Try these and share share share. It’s better to give than to receive. No, Really!
Ho Ho Ho.. These are seasonal so come and get your cookies."

I don't know where they are sold near you, but never fear, click HERE and you will be taken to their website for you to explore all of the wonderful cookie selections they offer.  They are $8 a bag and if the rest of their flavors are as good as their Peppermint Mocha, then trust me, they are worth it.

Here's a little cookie wonderfulness to feed your eyes on:

Here's what the package looks like (I had already opened it...hence my hand holding the bag together).

The good stuff. The Peppermint Mocha Cookies....

I ate these two right after I took this picture. They are too good to resist.

Santa Barbara Shopping

As a teacher, when you get an extra day off of school you take advantage of it! For some it's sleeping in and staying in your PJ's all day relaxing, for others it's an extra day at the park with their kids, for me.... it's exploring a new place I have never been.

Today I explored Santa Barbara... specifically State Street, in Santa Barbara, CA. I had an amazing time. YES, there are tons of cute shops and places to eat and I did my fair share of both, but just walking around and looking at the old buildings and twisting trees was the highlight of my day.

Take a (picture) walk with me and experience State Street, Santa Barbara.

Some of my favorite shops

That would be a statue of a man cleaning the windows.

Goodbye for until next time. Through the tunnel I go.

This sweater from Anthro... all sweaters were 20% off and this was in the sale area... so double score.
Bought an Emma Bridgewater Mug and some Snow Bites. The shop name and info is listed on the bag.

A new stamp, embossing powder and stamp pad.

Bet you know where these are from. I got an old favorite, Winter, and a new one to try!

Could not resist this cute little reindeer for Christmas time

I also got this little ROCK long sleeve shirt for a very special little 2 year old friend of mine. I hope it's the right size.
