Move Over Starbucks

Move over Starbucks because I no longer have a need for your Peppermint Mocha drinks anymore. I have found something else to keep me warm in a delicious peppermint-Mocha flavor.  What have I found, these AMAZING COOKIES By the company Come Get Your Cookies.

I went to the grocery store on the way home from a day of beach fun to pick up some yogurts for snacks at work. I walked by the display of cookies from Come Get Your Cookies and the cute shape and beautiful color of all the cookies caught my eye. I looked over each bag reading the names of the unique cookie flavors I had never tried before.  They have cookies called "Hot Flash" which include the flavors of maple, bacon, and Tabasco,  another one that caught my eye was the Strawberry-Basil cookie. Knowing I HAD to try a bag of these cookies I stumbled upon the "Peppermint-Mocha" cookie. They are cute and pink and I am already in the holiday spirit so I thought that bag would be the perfect one to try.

After one bite, I was hooked. I've had 4 of them in the course of about 8 minutes.... They remind me of the Peppermint Mocha Starbucks beverage that everyone LOVES during the holiday season. These cookies would make a GREAT gift sitting in a cute Christmas mug (like the one I have pictured here that I found at Home Goods this season), or a perfect pick me up during a long work day, or just a yummy little piece of heaven to eat after dinner.

Here is the discription of the Peppermint Mocha cookie from their website: "These Cookies are off the Chart. If you’re on Santas Nice list you deserve these cookies, If you’ve been put on Santa’s Naughty list you deserve these more than ever! These cookies are a blend of Cocoa and just the right amount of Peppermint chips for that Christmas Cheer. Try these and share share share. It’s better to give than to receive. No, Really!
Ho Ho Ho.. These are seasonal so come and get your cookies."

I don't know where they are sold near you, but never fear, click HERE and you will be taken to their website for you to explore all of the wonderful cookie selections they offer.  They are $8 a bag and if the rest of their flavors are as good as their Peppermint Mocha, then trust me, they are worth it.

Here's a little cookie wonderfulness to feed your eyes on:

Here's what the package looks like (I had already opened it...hence my hand holding the bag together).

The good stuff. The Peppermint Mocha Cookies....

I ate these two right after I took this picture. They are too good to resist.

Churro Cheesecake Squares aka, Cinnamon Cheesecake Squares

Going through my never ending binder of print out recipes that I have, I stumbled across this one for Churro Cheesecake Squares. It sounded so amazing that even though the hubs isn't a cheesecake fan I had to try it out.

Not sure where it was from as there is no web address on this print out. But thank you whoever you are who shared this yummy recipe on the web.

Here's the skinny on how to make these yummy treats.

Ingredients

* 2 cans of Pillsbury Crescent Dinner Rolls (I used the flakey butter kind)
*2 packages of Cream Cheese (The 8 oz. bricks)
*1 tsp Vanilla
*1 egg, beaten slightly
*1 cup sugar divided
* 2 Tbsp. ground cinnamon

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mix together (I used my stand mixer but you can use a hand held) egg, 1/2 cup of sugar, vanilla, and cream cheese.
In a separate cook mix together the rest of the sugar (1/2 c) and the cinnamon and set it aside for later.
3. Spray a 9X13 pan with cooking spray and sprinkle half of the cinnamon/sugar mixture evenly on the bottom of the pan.
4. On a piece of parchment paper, roll out one tube of the crescent roll dough and press the seams together so it doesn't separate while baking. *Tip: do this while the dough is cold so it doesn't stick as much.
5. carefully lay the dough in the pan.
6. Spread the cream cheese mixture onto the dough evenly.
7. Unroll the other tube of chilled dough and do exactly the same thing and lay it on top of the cheesecake mixture.
8. Spread the remaining cinnamon/sugar mixture ontop of the dough evenly.
9. Pop it in the oven for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.

Wasn't planning on posting this recipe so the photo isn't the best.

I made a little mistake (adding the cinnamon sugar mixture) into the actual cheese cake because I misread the directions however, it still turned out REALLY good. I gave most of the squares to my neighbors since I knew I'd end up eating the whole 9X13 pan of them. They were extremely happy last night when I dropped them off. Mr. H. said: "Anytime you make cheesecake anything feel free to bring it on over to us". HA!

Crafty Cuteness- Easter

I wanted to do something for my little cousins for Easter since I am so far away from them. I, as always decided to go to Pinterest to find something cute I could make. I found this great pattern for these cute as can be bunny bags. Here's the link if you want to check it out! Bunny Bags.

Here are how mine turned out!

I am on Spring Break this week and I wanted to have a little Spring/Easter goodie for them when we go back on Monday. So I went to Target and looked around the dollar section and found these goodies. Cute little bunny bags, note books and pens (2 for $1). I'm going to sneak into the teacher's room on Monday morning and stick these little cuties in their boxes.

Crafty Christmas Gifts

Ok so for Christmas for all of my cousins Big and small I made them each an apron.

The adult aprons are made out of a dish towel and some ribbon. The kids half aprons are made out of a fabric placemat. I also made the littles some snowmen beanies.

Here are the photos I promised.

If only I had a better model... here's what they look like on.

Christmas Gifts for the Kids in My Life

So because I had A TON of kids (10 that I can remember off the top of my head) to give to this Christmas I decided it would be more fun, and cheaper to make gifts. This year's go to kid gift was what I call a Snuggle Monster. I even made them for my hubby's co-workers. They drew names but I wanted to make sure everyone got a little something from us. I wasn't sure how they would be received but I have to say, kids and adults alike really like them! YAY, SUCCESS, happy dance!

Here is one I just made for my father-in-law's co-worker to give to her grandson!
