Deals and Steals

So you know I have 2 sweet as can be Lab dogs.

Sammy

and Pudge

In our town home our laundry room is also home to our dogs' food and water bowls. The wall has been bare for almost 2 years and I am just now getting around to putting something up that I found at Kohl's yesterday for $5.

I need to get a few more things to put on the wall, maybe a little dog bone on each side?

HOORAY for great deals!

Willow|House MEGA SEALS

So I was checking out the Willow|House Outlet and they have some AWESOME SALES going on right now. I ordered a few things, and got some GREAT steals!

Go check em out here.

Crafty Cuteness- Easter

I wanted to do something for my little cousins for Easter since I am so far away from them. I, as always decided to go to Pinterest to find something cute I could make. I found this great pattern for these cute as can be bunny bags. Here's the link if you want to check it out! Bunny Bags.

Here are how mine turned out!

I am on Spring Break this week and I wanted to have a little Spring/Easter goodie for them when we go back on Monday. So I went to Target and looked around the dollar section and found these goodies. Cute little bunny bags, note books and pens (2 for $1). I'm going to sneak into the teacher's room on Monday morning and stick these little cuties in their boxes.

Happy Birthday Hubby

Yesterday was my husband's birthday! Luckily I am on Spring Break so I was able to surprise him a bit.

I created a wall of balloons on our bedroom door for The Hubs to find.

I decorated the counter of our Kitchen and put balloons in the office. I also taped one red balloon to the inside lid of the toilet. HA! I didn't get a photo of it thought.

SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Discovering all the birthday surprises. (I put balloons on top of the toilet too). The last photo.... he discovered the balloon taped to the toilet and threw it at me. HA!

Going out for birthday lunch!

Present time! Sammy and Pudge were very interested in the hubby's presents. Possibly hoping for a treat for them? Yeah, I think so! I bought the Hubby a shirt he wanted and a pair of sunglasses. They are his favorite pair and he had the same exact ones before but lost them on a business trip. He was so bummed especially since they don't make this style anymore. Well, I found some and bought them, he was VERY happy!

Cake and cookie time, both made from scratch. How much do you love these candles? The flames match the color of the candles.

Super Bowl Goodness- Peanut Butter Football Dip

I am sorry for the lack of posting lately. Work has consumed my life and I love working with my students, but it has left me so tired when I get home that I haven't been online much.

With that being said I thought I'd come back and tempt your sweet tooth for what I made for Super Bowl dessert. Even though my 49ers lost, I was able to cope with it by eating more of this yummy dessert. What is it? Well it's Peanut Butter Football Dip of course, brought to you once again by Pinterest. I saw the picture, and the steps were right there so I gave it a whirl.

Brace yourself and prepare to undo your belt after this one. It's really good....

Ingredients

¼ cup butter, softened
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup peanut butter (your choice; crunchy or smooth)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups powdered sugar (up to 2 cups if needed)
½ cup mini chocolate chips
Chocolate sprinkles or chocolate chips for the outside of the football
White tube frosting for the football laces

Directions

*Cream butter, cream cheese, and peanut butter until mixed *I used a bowl and stirred by hand but hand or stand mixer would probably be faster)
*Mix in vanilla
*Add powdered sugar, ½ cup at a time, and mix until combined.
*Mix in chocolate chips.

***I placed my mixture in a bowl and let it chill for a little while so it would be easier to work with
*dump the mixture on a large sheet of waxed paper and form a football shape

*Place the waxed paper onto your serving plate. ***I had my wax paper folded to about the size I thought the football would be and folded it nicely on the plate I planned to server it on (A Super
Bowl Paper plate- I was driving out of town with it so it had to be on a dish I didn't care if I got back. Thank you grocery store for having those plates on hand for $1.48)

*Cover in sprinkles or chocolate chips, pressing them into the surface a little so they stick. *I put some in my hand and just flattened it against the football.
*Pipe on the laces using the white frosting
*Chill it again in the fridge so it doesn't get too soft before you eat it (unless that' how you like it)

And there you have it. Enjoy and let me know if you try this out!
I served mine with pretzels but you can use whatever you like.

Nom.Nom.Nom.

This would be great for any holiday. Shape them into lips for Valentine's day, a star for 4th of July, etc.
