SUPER BUSY!

It's been a while since my last post, but I have been super busy at work. Teaching all day, come home grade papers and prep for school. Then I've got to work on the yearbook, and then my day is over. I've got a pasta recipe to post (and you don't have to boil the pasta) and news to share, all when I get a moment. Until then, don't give up on me. I promise I'll be back very soon.

Staff Shirts

So, I got a flier in the mail for these super cute shirts about teaching/education with a Where the Wild Things are theme to it! They are SUPER CUTE and if we got enough of my staff to order we'd get the shirts for $9 a piece, free shipping, AND free personalization on the back.

I thought it would be great so I created a letter and gave it to the staff to see if they wanted to get one, and we got about 20 people to sign up. So we ended up getting the discounted price and the free shipping and personalization. YAY

Here's the image on the front of the shirt.

The teachers got this one and the office staff got the Wild about Education shirt. It was so great. For the personalization, I had them write the name of our school and the slogan "Simply the best!".

I can't wait for them to come in.

Brendon's Blue Blanket

Well, after my hubbs saw my super cute, super fuzzy blanket that I had gotten over Christmas Break when I was shopping with my mom, he decided he needed one too! Like the good wife I am, I decided to offer to make him one. Last month he and I went together and I let him pick out some fuzzy fabric he wanted me to use. He chose the dark blue, and I chose the light... good color combo.... So we got the fabric cut and there it sat. I was either too busy or tired to start on it.

So tonight, I laid the fabric on the bed and with out cutting the bed spread or sheet underneath I cut and tied this bad boy up for him! Mr. Hubbie was very pleased.

The coloring on this first picture is a bit off. The coloring on the 2nd picture is more true to color.

I've been meaning to post this...

About 2 weekends ago, I went to Anthropologie 1. because I LOVE that store. 2. I had a $75 gift card from my birthday (October) that I wanted to spend.

Their window displays always amaze me and I always end up wishing I can do something super cute like they do. However most of them take too much time or are too complicated. WELL, this past time they had SUCH A CUTE, and simple idea that is also a great way to recycle.

Take a look:

Do you know what those cute flowers are made out of? They are made of the tops of plastic (soda and etc.) bottles. CUTE RIGHT? I decided my class and I are going to make these. I'll cut the bottles off, and draw the flower petals on the tops. Then my kids can cut and paint them. We'll hang them from the ceiling of the classroom! It'll be cute I can see it now!

I can kick myself because I had students bring in TONS of these bottles because we used the bottle half for our Valentine's Day holders and we recycled the tops... now I need the tops!
